I decided to start working on some usability improvements targeted at speeding up gameplay since the slowdown has been hard to nail down. Making the End Turn button work more like expected is what I decided to tackle first, hence the quote above from a couple months back.friarsol wrote:It will end your turn completely unless something else hits the stack. Then it breaks out of the end turn process and allows you to respond.KrazyTheFox wrote:This one caught me off guard when I pulled the latest changes. Is there a better phrasing that could be used here instead? "End Turn" sounds like it's ending my turn completely. Maybe just "pass"?drdev wrote:Right prompt button is now an enabled "End Turn" button when you're give the option to pass priority.
I just released 1.5.24.010, which changes the End Turn to properly skip your attack phase and not get cancelled automatically if a spell or ability is put on the stack. You will still be given a chance to declare blockers if your opponent attacks, but after that the rest of your opponent's turn will now be auto-yielded properly.
To alleviate pressing this accidentally, as long as you're auto-yielding this way, you'll be able to press the Cancel button to cancel the auto-yield and be given the chance to act again. Phases with stops and spells/abilities resolving will be given a slight delay to allow you to see what's going on and give you the chance to regain control by cancelling the yield.
Let me know if you have any concerns about this change. I'm willing to add a setting to restore the old behavior of not auto-yielding to new stuff hitting the stack if such is desired. Note that this change will affect the next desktop release as well.
Next up is adding auto-yield support for individual abilities. Stay tuned for updates on that.
Thanks.

Wow, you are really fast, my deepest thanks for this great app. It's just fantastic that its like the Java/PC/Mac application.
To me your last change looks very welcome. Can't you maybe add some more optional automatism/intelligence into the phase processing? I mean to auto skip all phases, if nothing else is possible and stop at phases with opponent priority only, if the opponent acts...
Dan, another usability thing... IMO swiping through the cards is badly missing. E.g., in deck building, or while playing. We "longclick" the small cards, then we get the full screen card. The only action which is possible there is to show that "text description card" or exit.
What really would add to the usability would be swiping left/right through all possible cards (the cards depending on what context they have been chosen from) and even having the option to play cards from this "full card view" (play, or in case of deck management maybe "add to deck"). I think there's room for improvement, as swipe left/right/up/down are all unassigned.

Swipe left and right are technically assigned already to switching between zoom and details view. That said, I'll see if I can find a way to support what you're asking for, as it's a request I've gotten before.bevryde wrote:Wow, you are really fast, my deepest thanks for this great app. It's just fantastic that its like the Java/PC/Mac application.

I think going through cards on swiping left/right would feel more natural. Maybe long press would be better for zoom/details view.
And swipe up for bringing the card into play. In case of deck management, up for "add to deck", down for "to sideboard"... just ideas.

That behavior sounds reasonable to me. I'll toy around with it and let you know what I come up with.bevryde wrote:I think going through cards on swiping left/right would feel more natural. Maybe long press would be better for zoom/details view.

You can be very proud of this app. There is so much crap in Appstore/google play with like 5 lines of code, and people want money from it. Last I read was about a "concert friendly" app which basically only dims down display and turns off flashlight. WOW.
If Forge was in Google play, I'd be willing to pay more than for most other apps I payed. But hey, I didn't say anything

during sideboard, if you press back ( android button ) you get to a state from which the game must be restarted.

"Duel Commander" is a different variant than "Commander" we just have Commander rules. If the official Commander rules were to say there are changes for 2 player Commander games that's one thing. This link you posted is someone just tweaking their rules for their 2 player variant.kestell wrote:http://duelcommander.com/rules/friarsol wrote:Do you want to clarify? That said, we can certainly consider adding an additional "Duel Commander" variant.friarsol wrote:"Duel Commander" is a different variant than "Commander" we just have Commander rules. On the app when we choose the constructed option we can play two round matches with the opponent, and on the next screen we can choose the decks for the match, if i choose Random decks: Random user deck for the AI it will pick a random deck, and on the end of the two rounds we get > Start new match or >quit match, if you choose start a new match the opponent deck will still be the same, only if you quit and start again the opponent deck will be different, what i was asking is if you can change the behaviour so the decks change on start new match or make it with two >restart match (same decks from last match) and >new match with new random decks
Thanks
Thanks

I look at "Start New Match" as the equivalent of "Rematch", so I would expect the decks to be the same. If you want to play a different random deck, you can just press Quit Match then Start.Scion of Darkness wrote:On the app when we choose the constructed option we can play two round matches with the opponent, and on the next screen we can choose the decks for the match, if i choose Random decks: Random user deck for the AI it will pick a random deck, and on the end of the two rounds we get > Start new match or >quit match, if you choose start a new match the opponent deck will still be the same, only if you quit and start again the opponent deck will be different, what i was asking is if you can change the behaviour so the decks change on start new match or make it with two >restart match (same decks from last match) and >new match with new random decks

Also, you can consider trying out Guantlets. You can create a quick gauntlet which will allow you to play against any number of different random decks in a row.
