Altac Bloodseeker, Battlefield Forge, Belligerent Sliver are updated. After a couple of days, if there aren't any other errors reported I will fix the Phyrexian Revoker too.

Thank you for posting the images for Magic 2015. Much appreciated!

So, why do the scans have the borders darkened to black, when the actual cards have them in a grey?

All the 200dpi images have always had a black based outer frame. You can see it in the previous PW's. You probably just havent noticed it since the older inner frames were a perfect rectangle and the newer card frames have the grey near the bottom. Just a guess though.Darkholme wrote:So, why do the scans have the borders darkened to black, when the actual cards have them in a grey?
Traditionally the 300dpi and larger images have the grey based borders / framing.

But the card borders didn't start being grey until the new borders were released. Not in the preview of the new borders (which were still black), just the final ones.woogerboy21 wrote:All the 200dpi images have always had a black based outer frame. For instance if I pull out some of my 10E, or M10, or ODY cards, they've all got an actually black border. Looking at the cards from KTK, FRF, and M15, it's now a dark grey, with black around the collectors info text for added contrast. You can also see this on gatherer.
Unless you mean it's a deliberate change. If it's a deliberate change, I'm still curious what the reason is. I can see it for something like forge, where it's going to add a generated border behind it in solid black either way, you could want it to match that. I dont have any of your old cards up in front of me right now, did you also change the white and medium grey (unglued) card borders to black?

Please post two images to highlight the issue.

The issue seems to be ubiquitous across the entire release, not limited to a couple cards; so I was wondering if it was deliberate, and if so, was curious what the reason was.
CCGHQ image (From your mediafire) on the left. WotC image on the right.
Note: If you look at some of the older promo images for M15, the borders are in the new shape, but still black, whereas if you look at the cards or the newer promo stuff, they're dark grey. The comparison holds true with the physical cards; too (I dont have any of the physical cards with the new border, but a friend let me look at a bunch of his Khans cards when it was fairly new, and I did a side-by side comparison to the old-bordered cards).
You've got the borders darkened to black (#000000), but as of M15, the borders are no longer black, but instead dark grey (#231f20 - 345°/11%/14%). It's the same on Gatherer. And just so you can see it's not a fluke of the card, here's another random card on gatherer; it's got the same color border.
And for one more:

Here's a card that's been printed both with the "Modern" card frame/border, and the new border from M15. Both images are copied from gatherer. Notice the much lighter border?
If I look at your 300DPI FRF scans from your Mega share, they've been darkened, but not all the way to black (#16130e - 38°/33%/9%). I havent got a downloaded copy of your 200 DPI FRF scans for comparison, so I can't speak to those.
In your 300 DPI KTK scans, you've got them darkened (to #14110c - 37°/35%/9%). Still lighter than black, but still darkened.
But as you can see, all of these are notably darker than the actual cards, and darker than the official digital WotC card images (which I would think would be ideally suited for calibrating your color corrections).

That's a 200 DPI Soul of Shandalar. Our 300 DPI version has the same gray borders from 8ED to M15.
Are you saying that the physical cards have different colored borders from 8ED to M15?

Correct. That's exactly what I'm saying.skibulk wrote:Are you saying that the physical cards have different colored borders from 8ED to M15?
The borders are one color from at least 8ED-M14 (Pretty sure its the same color going all the way back, excluding white-bordered and unglued cards, but don't quote me on that one), and they're a new, different color from M15 onward.
And out of curiosity:
Why do you color the 200DPI versions differently from the 300DPI versions?skibulk wrote:That's a 200 DPI Soul of Shandalar. Our 300 DPI version has the same gray borders from 8ED to M15.
And is there somewhere I can get everything in 300DPI? Perhaps a torrent? I downloaded everything in the mediafire, but much of it was only available in 200DPI.
