Linux (Specifically Gnome 3.0) problem
by rigeld2 » 16 Sep 2015, 20:26
Gnome 3.0 released a while ago. With that came a different method of handling notifications. As far as I can tell I can't click on the little wizard hat anymore to "Disable blinking" - I just get screwed when it's on.
I haven't tested KDE or any other modern window managers to know if they exhibit the problem or not, but probably not.
Is there interest in me figuring out a way to fix/work around this in the code, or should I just live with it/figure out a workaround in GNOME?

I'm not currently using Linux on my system, but there are quite a few Linux users, so if you can contribute some code to help out, that would be great.

Well, I guess I need to ask -
Is it reasonable to just not freaking blink? Or at least have a setting to turn it off?
All it does is break things on Linux. Is it that valuable of a thing to have?
