The way I described is the way it's supposed to work.{U/R}{U/R}. If you do, gain control ..." ,not "choose target creature power less than Yasova ,you may pay
{U/R}{U/R} to gain control of it" .So it works should be :
1: Combat begins.
2.You choose whether or not to pay the cost.
3.If yes, choose a target creature and the ability is put onto the stack
4.Your opponents respond .If no one do something prevent it,gain control of that creature.
If the rule is what you said, this scene will happen:
You control Yasova Dragonclaw,a Culling Dais , three untapped mountain and a Lightning Bolt in hand.Your opponent control a Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and a Gods Willing in hand.At the beginning of combat, you choose Thalia ,then your opponent cast Gods Willing in response to let it protect from green. Then you smile "Sorry, I don't pay{U/R}{U/R}" and cast Lightning Bolt killing Thalia. You see,Yasova actually do nothing but forcing your opponent use his Gods Willing. It seems ridiculous.
I didn't use Yasova in a real duel so I might be wrong. But I think my opinion is right. If there is any FAQ,please tell me and thanks.
First ruling states that the power of the target creature is chosen as it's put onto the stack, which cannot be done if the target hasn't been chosen yet.
Also, here someone explains that Delver of Secrets (whose ability mirrors the structure of Yasova's) works the way I describe in Magic the Gathering: Online, and that's coded by Wizards (or whoever they hired to program the game) so it is rule-compliant.
EDIT:
Just a couple more references:
- Rule 114.1d: A triggered ability is targeted if it identifies something it will affect by using the phrase “target [something],” where the “something” is a phrase that describes an object, player, or zone. The target(s) are chosen as the ability is put on the stack; see rule 603.3d. --- So, as soon as the ability triggers, the target is chosen.
- 603.5 (same link as above) and 608.2d: Some triggered abilities’ effects are optional (they contain “may,” as in “At the beginning of your upkeep, you may draw a card”). These abilities go on the stack when they trigger, regardless of whether their controller intends to exercise the ability’s option or not. The choice is made when the ability resolves. Likewise, triggered abilities that have an effect “unless” something is true or a player chooses to do something will go on the stack normally; the “unless” part of the ability is dealt with when the ability resolves. --- So, the "you may pay" is dealt with when it resolves, which is when it is the next item on the stack and all players pass priority (so, no one can respond until someone gets priority again).
- 608.2e (same link as above): Some spells and abilities have multiple steps or actions, denoted by separate sentences or clauses, that involve multiple players. In these cases, the choices for the first action are made in APNAP order, and then the first action is processed simultaneously. Then the choices for the second action are made in APNAP order, and then that action is processed simultaneously, and so on. See rule 101.4. --- Since there are multiple parts to the ability, but the only sections are you making the choice and then the effect resolving with no other players making choices, the ability resolves without any other play getting a chance to make a choice of any kind once it's resolving (that is, after they've already passed priority to allow it to resolve). Nowhere in there does anyone get priority; not even you. Only choices related directly to the ability's text are made.

Many thanks for the references. I'll also stop fiddling with Yasova.

I'm not sure who "Elven" is, but you reported a bug in the IRC about the sync utility deleting the new art wads when you sync decks. This issue should be fixed.

hey Xander!
I wanna test your new app, but I have a question:
Will be delete the custom private decks too?
I remember when I tried to sync on the old app, it deleted my decks
so Im afraid to loose my stuff again.

Please back up your decks before testing this, but I just added a new feature to register a personal CPEID. I would be registering 9009. Do NOT register your personal CPEID normally. (Unregister it if it's registered.) Once this is done, it should sync any decks you've registered the CPEID for, move all unmatching decks to a subfolder, but ignore any that match the personal CPEID. So, if you register TFM and then sync decks, you'll get all of TFM's stuff. If you unregister TFM and then sync, they'll all be removed. If you happen to have 313 unregistered and have some of those decks in your folder, they'll also be removed. But if you've registered 313 as your personal CPEID, those decks will never be moved. Like I said, back up your decks first to make sure it works. I tested it, and it appears to be working on my end.nachonal986 wrote:hey Xander!

That's really cool. Is it possible to register certain decks also, e.g. if I want 5 decks from TFMs mod but not the others?Xander9009 wrote:Please back up your decks before testing this, but I just added a new feature to register a personal CPEID. This ability didn't really exist. It does now. I just added it. When you register a deck, make sure to type the full filename. Doesn't matter if it has ".wad" on the end or not, but the entire rest of the file must be there or it won't work. It'll automatically handle Content Pack Enablers as needed.nivmizzet1 wrote:That's really cool. Where can I get the sync tool? The link in the community wad tools page is broken (at least for me). I get Error 404.Xander9009 wrote:This ability didn't really exist. It does now. I just added it. Which link were you using? I'd like to fix it. It's in this folder, though: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-cZn ... kxPMk5UYjQnivmizzet1 wrote:Where can I get the sync tool? Thanks. I used the one on the community wad tools page -- that link is broken. I also used the link under 'automatic updating' on the community wad front page, I think the link goes to the home for the community wad or something, but wherever it goes it doesn't have the sync tool.Xander9009 wrote:Which link were you using? I don't know if anybody has brought it up yet, but it seems the AI can use cards with
cost in them for free.

Which cards? And paying with what mana? It has come up before, but it was a bug with a specific card.Chakan wrote:I don't know if anybody has brought it up yet, but it seems the AI can use cards withcost in them for free.
