Right, turn off descreening etc. It needs to look like the one on the right.

Well, I don't know. It might be my scanner. I turned on the unsharp mask now and tried it, but the descreening filter never was turned on.
I'll put em up anyways, in case Extreme can do something with them. I think they looked pretty good after some sharpenening in photoshop. but iunno.

thanks a lot, we appreciate it, but they're not ok, the printing raster has turned into something very strange and quite unsmooth. It's the scanner's fault.

I scan Iona, Shield of Emeria and Pyromancer Ascension. Only what we need is Nissa Revane.deicidemilan wrote:I will scan Feast of Blood.extreme wrote:oops, I found i was also missing another one, thankfully it's an uncommon. Ok, this is definitely definitely the final list. I finished all the rest.

I got a new scanner (it is unfortunately an all-in-one), so I'll scan my Nissa, and we can see how it turns out.
I like being bad... it makes me happy...

So for the people that are submitting scans and they are acceptable what brand or model of scanners are they using?
From recent research it would appear that a CIS scanner will produce images that are not acceptable were as CCD based scanners may. I am curious if this is the difference between the hardware in the scanners.

I use an Epson Perfection 1250 USB scanner, set to color photo, 600dpi, and I always press "reset" on the auto-color-correction it tries to do after I select the portion of the pre-scan I want actually scanned.woogerboy21 wrote:So for the people that are submitting scans and they are acceptable what brand or model of scanners are they using?

Might be getting off topic here, but I'm pretty sure CCD scanners are better by definition. CIS is just a crappier technology. 3 colored LEDs and a greyscale sensor will always lead to color issues compared to 1 white light and a color sensor. No mirrors or lens (hence contact scanner) means you probably won't get as good of a focus. CIS is more suited to portable, lightweight, or other low-quality scanners like barcode or business card scanners. CCD will always have better depth, focus, sharpness, and color than CIS.woogerboy21 wrote:And thats a CCD scanner... so far theory holds trueArk wrote:I use an Epson Perfection 1250 USB scanner, set to color photo, 600dpi, and I always press "reset" on the auto-color-correction it tries to do after I select the portion of the pre-scan I want actually scanned.woogerboy21 wrote:So for the people that are submitting scans and they are acceptable what brand or model of scanners are they using?
I don't expect many people to go researching on what kind of technology their scanner users though.

Actually, I blame this thread for inspiring me to go learn the difference. Thankfully, my epson is a ccd.

did we get an acceptable scan for nissa? that was the only card right? was hoping to draft from a pool of the whole set this weekend, just need 25 cards or so. also thinking about playing some games where some friends and I each pick/get assigned a color then try to make the best deck out of zendikar cards of just that color (max 4 of each card). I need the power cards to make that any fun.
