You still turn a simple idea into a complex deck.
Why use 8 power/ thoughness boosters (unicorn + unholy) if you get better results by adding more rats instead?
(the rats boost eachother while the enchantments boost only 1 rat.)
The disk, carpet and vial all may be usefull sometimes, but they are sideboard at best, replace with rats!
Soul Feast and Howling Mine, nice but not a must-have... again, sideboard.
And only 1 Marrow-Gnawer? He is the key to getting damage through and making huge piles of rats to use as either blockers or overwhelm an opposing black deck.
I still think my Relentles Rats deck is better due to simplicity. Although you have a point with Zombify, I might swap that in for my Raise Dead. Dark Ritual / Black Lotus over my Moxes....
Replace the 4 Moxes with:
1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Jet
2 Dark Ritual
I do not use Volrath's Stronghold because as far as I know, that card is still bugged and cards retrieved with it do not work. Otherwise, it would be a good choice.
(I already posted this deck in your other rats thread once, so just the text file as a reminder, not the deck itself.)
My original Rrrratsss deck:
60 Total Cards
32 Creatures
-------------
4x Marrow-Gnawer
4x Ratcatcher
20x Relentless Rats
4x Royal Assassin
8 Spells
----------
4x Mox Jet
4x Raise Dead
20 Land
--------
20x Swamp

The complexities I put in there are for flexibility more or less. You get someone who can stop your rats cold with say "moat" or something, those Soul Drains come in so handy. The Ratcatcher pulls out rats even faster, as well as being a good 4/4 critter, even if you couldn't get the rats out till after that.
And the Volrath's Stronghold still brings Rats who have been killed back to your hand. I didn't see the reason to have more than 9 Rats because if you manage to get nine 9/9 creatures, it was pretty much a done deal, find ways to get them home intead.
The aethervials may be overkill but work great if you get land-horked. Darksteel Ingots are great if someone pulls a Nevy's on you or you have to yourself. Howling Mine helps get to the good cards or mana faster.
And the quick pumpers... well sometimes you get mana but not many creatures, and it's nice to have your lone rat go from a 1/1 to a 9/5 in a turn. So a much more flexible deck and you generally get the main combos out right away too and don't risk getting all rats as much in your first hand.
So that's why the complexity.
AFAIK, you can have only one legendary creature and up to 4 similar legendary lands in your deck.

You can have as many Legendary Permanents in your deck as you want, but you can only have one at a time in play (on the battlefield). If there are more than one of the same name in play, they both get destroyed.

Well it's a nice idea to expand on a concept by adding additional cards to it. But some players really do feel that it slows down the deck in general.
It all depends on one's playstyle really.

Though certain legendary cards like Child of Alara despite being legendary are fun to intentionally blow up for a very good reasonDennisBergkamp wrote:You can have as many Legendary Permanents in your deck as you want, but you can only have one at a time in play (on the battlefield). Is it actually still bugged? It should be fixed by now...I do not use Volrath's Stronghold because as far as I know, that card is still bugged and cards retrieved with it do not work. Otherwise, it would be a good choice.

It is? Sorry, did not test it yet. Must have missed the mentioning of it being fixed earlier.DennisBergkamp wrote:Is it actually still bugged? Will try later.
Meanwhile, I am staring out the window trying to convince the clouds to stop dropping rain as I need to go to the supermarket. (on my bicycle since I do not have a car)
Oh, lovely Dutch weather...

Check! Volrath's Stronghold works as intended now.
Thanks Dennis, I really was not aware that it had been fixed.
Totally irrelevant but still nice: My stare-down with the clouds actually worked and I managed to get my shopping done without getting wet! YAY!
