Problem is there seem to be no real rules about that. And wizards are not really continuous in this matter.
I know Avatar is a critter subtype. But they are called that so i tend towards:
"Vanguard Avatar" no subtype confusion, but we would have the its a "Vanguard" card info, and the Avatar info. The MTGO cards say Avatar on their type line...
I know its not ultimate super perfect... But it would look nice, and it would give all the infos.

2) What about the Serr Angel Avatar? "...gain life when you play (or cast?) a a spell ." ??? Some weird rules again? Or just missed to fix?

I've discovered 17 full Avatar illustrations by "UDON" Crew Posted to their Deviant Art account. 10 additional full images were posted by Wizards. We're up to 125 MTGO avatars now. Have any other full images turned up? Where did magiccards.info get theirs (at the bottom)?

These new illustrations are for "vanilla" avatars without functions (Hand mod = 0; Life mod = 0; no rules text). Thus they were not rendered. They are just persona images for the players. They are really nice images though. The renderings on the magiccards.info site were done with a Layout from this site and processed by me

Is there a full zip file of the pictures from the thread? I'm not sure whether all Vanguards are represented...

Thanks a lot for your upload PilotPirx. Another question: Has there been any progress on the "remakes" of the old 32 Vanguard Avatars, with updated wording (as mentioned, battlefield, cast and die might have some impact, also the new type and wording on the modifiers).
As I'm currently planning on printing all the Avatars as Proxys, having the old ones remade to current standards seemed like a good idea. Does HQ Card Generator support Vanguard Cards?
