I played a strange game of Mad Wizard which may involve a bug. The opponent was the Mill deck which took a mulligan first turn for having no lands. But then the AI did nothing for the rest of the game - no lands, no spells. It might that the AI drew no lands to begin and for eight turns, but there might be a land-ratio issue or some other bug.

Decks with mill theme always have 24 lands. Normally that is enough, but indeed, when unlucky even after a mulligan there are still no lands.
The mulligan logic for AI is basic. When first hand contains less than 2 or more than 5 lands, mulligan once.
So after that there is no second mulligan. Usually it does the trick.

I see - that makes sense. I knew about the fewer than 2 lands mulligan rule, but didn't know that it applied only once. So that explains why the AI kept a presumably poor hand the second time. Thanks.

I guess this is the place for couple of small issues, both for images. No image token for a specific Wall of Omens image ( khc-35-wall-of-omens) seems to be the issue. Also no token image for Jellyfish token produced by Cynette, Jelly Drover which doesn't exist in the database of scryfall.

Hi Aswan jaguar,
I checked the Mad Wizard scans folder and the "khc-35-wall-of-omens.jpg" file contains an image.
Maybe delete the file manually and download images to fix the issue or replace it.
Wall of Omens
For the token, as it is indeed not available, there is currently a standard replacement.
If in the Mad Wizard tokens data folder a file is added with filename "1_1_blue_Jellyfish_creature_token_with_flying.jpg", a custom image could be used from web search.

I have tried this already just a question if I insert an image will be shown immediately in game or do I have to restart the game? It didn't show up without a restart but I don't know if I was doing something wrong. Also I didn't know which deck the AI was using ( AI had this token ) can you do that while you are in a game? Also another question the naming convention of card images ( not just tokens ) is the one from scryfall, right?ubeefx wrote:If in the Mad Wizard tokens data folder a file is added with filename "1_1_blue_Jellyfish_creature_token_with_flying.jpg", a custom image could be used from web search.

Hi Aswan jaguar,
If you put "u_cynette.dec" in the decks folder, you can test it easily by playing that deck theme.
You might need a restart if the game already tried to load the token image.
The name of the AI player is the deck it plays, but it is always generated.
Naming convention is indeed from Scryfall which is the card and token image source.

- Code: Select all
!u,Cynette
!test deck
36,18 {
Counterspell
Cynette, Jelly Drover
}
24,24 {
Island
}

Ok, I managed to find a bug after lots, lots of games, extremely difficult to find one with the great work ubfeex is doing
. I had 2 non-flying creatures on board and AI cast Deluge on my turn and tapped them before combat. On same turn after that on 2nd main phase I equipped my Rotting Regisaur with Fleetfeather Sandals and gave it flying. Then AI on his turn cast Magus of the Moat and as you can see although my creature has flying it is not allowed to attack.

Hi Aswan Jaguar, thanks for testing and reporting the bug. Good find!
There can indeed be ordering issues when flying ability is checked on creatures for some static abilities.
Magus of the Moat is a nice example for this.

I had Deathbringer Liege in play and cast Incling Summoning which is both black and white both triggers triggered as they should but if there is no chance to order the triggers as you like then the most proper way is for the white trigger to go last on the stack so resolve first so you are then able to destroy the already tapped creature from and not the other way round like it is now. Also the black trigger should be able to target any creature and not just a tapped one.
Rulings
(8/1/2008)
If you cast a spell that's both white and black, the last two abilities will both trigger. You may use them together to destroy any creature. To do so, put the "destroy" ability on the stack first, then put the "tap" ability on the stack, with each one targeting the same creature. When the abilities resolve, they'll tap the creature, then destroy it.
(6/15/2010)
The last ability can target any creature, not just a tapped creature (it doesn't say "target tapped creature"). When the ability resolves, check whether the creature is tapped or not. If it's tapped, you may destroy it. If it's not tapped, the ability does nothing.

Hi Aswan jaguar, another good find, thanks for testing!
When most card rules used to be hardcoded, the trigger ordering was implemented as you mentioned.
With the rule text parsing, the way it works, it first sees the tap trigger and then the destroy trigger.
That is also how the triggers currently end up on the stack.
There can be a workaround for this card that orders the triggers properly after parsing.
If the black trigger uses a wrong target filter, that can be easily fixed.
