Not for much longer. The reconstructed 'CardArtNew' folder is nearly finished.Lex wrote:Problem: Wrong card images.

@Sonic: Did you test my solution? I think it works ok so you do not need to reconstruct any more.
@Huggybaby: Yes, it is installed on other partition.

What Sonic is working on is better than anything out there. The pics will all be one size and very consistent because they are all derived from our HQ crops. Notice that now some pics are .jpg and some are .JPG. There's no difference in practice but it's just sloppy and points out the lack of quality control and the ad hoc nature of the current set. There are also some card text issues he is correcting.
In the meantime I'm very glad you found a better set than we were pointing to.

Oh, I see. In such case I'll look for Sonic's work too if his work is nearly finished.

Hey there,
Before i had downloaded this version that didn't need installation.. just the program directory and the magic.exe file... everything worked fine.
but then i thought: "maybe i should install this new version, probably better, maybe more cards.. could be fun". so that's what i did. Installing went fine but when i ran it i didn't have any text in the cards. becomming grumpy i deleted it again and went back to my older version........which now also was missing text.
so i assume it was something in the registry... or maybe a DLL file in windows directory... would anyone know where to look... how to fix it.
I'm running windows 7 64-bit version
i added a picture for people to see how my game looks now

so....any thoughts?

Q:My fonts are missing !Here is a screenshot!
A:
Couple things you have to do.
1.If you haven´t already apply the Compatibility Tool patch -> Tutorial + Links
2.Disable Visual Themes
->
Create a shortcut to your magic.exe (c:\Magic\magic.exe). rightclick ->create shortcut->desktop
Disable Visual Themes (rightclick the shortcut to magic ->properties->compatibility->check "deactivate visual themes".
Start the game with the shortcut on your desktop/anywhere.
3.Reboot!

Oh My God, i'm so sorry..
the compatibility tool patch i already applied, also disabled the visual themes.
didn't forget to install it to c: root... i did the above...
just forgot to reboot (normally don't reboot this computer as i use it as partial server as well)
i feel.... strange... it's like asking someone "did you plug in the electricity?"...
thanks, i'm now able to enjoy this great game again

Thanks for the good news.
Just for others reading this: Installing using this ISO means the compatibility patch is automatically applied, no extra steps necessary. You should not have to disable themes either, or run anything in compatibility mode. Usually you don't even have to reboot but some systems do need it. I'm running Windows 7 x64 with no trouble.
Installing into the root isn't necessary either, just keep the path short. The default install location on 64 bit systems is C:\Program Files (x86)\MagicTG.

The link isn't work, can someone reupload it?
A question: this version will work with the card updates, new cards and challenge mode?
What is necessary to apply in it after installation?

All the info is here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2349
If you want to try all the other patches, get Mok's manalink and put it in a separate folder.
