Drafting

Postby Happy Cat » 09 Dec 2009, 16:26

Wiki says that
To draft using this product:

* Run Launcher.exe and choose the Draft option.
* Go to Solo Duel, and begin. It doesn’t matter which decks are selected. After mulligans, the draft should begin.
* Click the cards to draft your deck.
...
Actually there's no Launcher.exe anymore. And programm renamed all the decks from .dck to .old. Am I doing something wrong or is it wiki that's incorrect?

Wiki's wrong. Launcher.exe is obsolete. There is a checkbox to draft in the Solo Duel screen now.

Edit: Wiki updated

Where is this checkbox? When I go from the Magic TG Launcher to Solo Duel, there is no checkbox?

Technically it's a radio button, on the bottom-right quarter of the screen

Am I blind or do I need to install another piece of software, seperate from the Custom 2010 installer?

I can't find it, and searching the forums gives me nothing.

I also don't have the challenge mode option in the Gauntlet screen.

Wat

My install doesn't look anything like that. Just to be certain, I installed the one located here: viewtopic.php?f=55&t=2349

So now I'm seriously confuse. Where do I find the most up to date installs? What the crack did I do wrong?

- Casper

PS. Might I suggest a "downloads"-page with a little more ease of use for us poor n00bs? ;)

PPS. This is what I've got:

You are using what we generally call the Manalink Mok version which is supposed the most stable for multiplayer and Shandalar but with less cards than the actual version which is currently dated of March 29th of 2010.

To use the draft feature you are to make a separate copy of the Magic folder and install all the files from my previous post, it has also revamped graphics which look like the pics I posted.

If you want to play solo duel, new cards or new game mode (draft, Momir, Dragon...), you have to use the new Magic folder.

If you want to play multiplayer and Shandalar, you have to use the old Magic folder

When I install those new files, then run MagicCustom.exe, it says I'm missing drawcardcus.dll.

MagicCustom.exe is the executable that allow to switch to the user custom version.

There is 3 versions in the latest installment :
- Constructed which hold nearly all original cards + new cards within the 2k limit
- Limited (or previously called Bestofwhich is used for sealed game, some more original cards removed and more new cards
- Custom which is used with jatill's My2K utility and allow to swap any cards from old to new and vice versa.

To use the Custom mode you need to download and install My2k :

I deliberately did not include this section in my copy-past latest update text because I don't use custom cards myself...yet.

Still pretty busy with updating all original decks.
