Great update! Thanks guys.
I am a bit busy lately, keeping me from really getting into this game so all I can say is that I hope to give this the attention it deserves.
Other than that, I still drop by here a few times a week, I just don't post often anymore.
But this still is one of my all time favorite games.

Thanks, Mind's Desire is definitely the hardest card i've coded so far. I've tried to make it bug free but i know that someone's gonna break it soon.slowe wrote:Beached As, you're my hero. Mind's Desire is amazing ... I stayed up for hours.
A lot of work must have gone into that, and I haven't come across any problems yet. In fact, it lets you counter your own spells, which is something you can't normally do. So Mind's Desire works better than Forge!![]()
Kudos to Beached, and as always a huge thank you to all the developers who make Forge possible.
and sif compare Mind's Desire to forge, countering your own spells was an accident (a welcomed accident

Seems like every release there's some hugely awesome card I've wanted to play with. Life from the Loam makes that list this release.
Thank you!

Just an announcement. We're starting the Forge Deck Builder Contest for fun. So after you get all the fun new cards and start building, think about joining in the contest for fun! Follow the above link to the deck building area to learn more!

From the Quest Mode window you should press the Deck Editor button. This will allow you to select cards from your pool of cards. Save your deck when finished. Your deck should then be listed in the "your Deck" drop down box.
Go to the Bazaar and select the Beasts button. Buy the wall and it will be listed in the now blank drop down box between the deck editor and quests buttons.
You must first create a deck and save it and select it from the "your Deck" drop down box before the play game" button will work.

This is not quite accurate. The Plant Wall is available via the Nursery button; you buy the Wolf Pet (and later the Crocodile Pet) via the Beasts button. Also, the Wolf Pet will not necessarily show up in the drop down box when you first buy it; you either need to make sure you select it or close the quest window and then continue the quest (when the Wolf will be selected by default).Chris H. wrote:Go to the Bazaar and select the Beasts button. Buy the wall and it will be listed in the now blank drop down box between the deck editor and quests buttons.
But Chris is exactly right about the deck; you must go into the deck editor and create a deck from your available cards (be sure to save!) before you can play a match.

Ok, those steps worked and I was able to play a quest. I did get an error when I tried to use the deck analyzer though.

nelyn, what OS and Java version are you using? I'm on a Mac (so no Java 6) and have never been able to use the deck analyzer. I also get an error message when using the filter in the deck editor, but it works fine anyway.
This is something the developers can look at if you guys weren't aware, but it's not very critical.

I have an Intel based iMac with Snow Leopard OS and this OS version only comes with java 6. The deck analyzer works for me. People have reported that the quest mode filters are buggy, yet they work fine in the constructed mode deck editor.

I am still fairly new at java and programming in general ... I'm learning and my skill set is slowly improving.

We have a group of decks that I may be able to add to quest mode. Adding AI decks to the fantasy mode as a special opponent is difficult and requires some work and coding skills. I will probably be busy with this for the time being.

Can you guys post the error message you see when trying to access the deck analyzer (might have to enable java console output) ? This is most probably just a 1.5 incompatibility.

That's what I figured. For Deck Analysis I get this error message, and after closing it just a blank window.DennisBergkamp wrote:Can you guys post the error message you see when trying to access the deck analyzer (might have to enable java console output) ? It is possible to cheat somewhat in quest mode with this version. With the Deck Editor, you may add more than one copy of a spell, even if you currently only have one copy of said spell.

Forge tries to be cross platform but there are a ton of "little things" that can go wrong: like Java or Apple's version of Java or something else. Most of us only have one computer to test Forge on.

some errors are from using Java 1.5 most of us (developers) only have 1.6 installed, so ensuring compatibility needs much care. I actually have 1.5 installed, too, but didn't have any time to check errors lately.
from my experience, JRE vendors or operating systems are not that much of a problem, just JRE versions.
