Thanks for the quick reply Sonic. I'm a bit confused because I was able to add the cards I mentioned in a deck. I am not sure which patch allowed me go be able to see those cards in Deck Builder though.Sonic wrote:Hi mzepolmzepol wrote:Hi Sonic, I posted a bug I encountered in the FAQ section, and reading your post I think it's become clearer to me now... The Manalink201 update should probably NOT be applied to the 2010 Custom Installer ISO version of the game. Am I correct?
An additional question though - are the cards Sneak Attack, Mind Over Matter, Serra Avatar, Cursed Scroll included in the patches for the 2010 Custom Installer ISO version?
You'd be correct - Manalink201 is already patched into the CD-ROM ISO. Installing it separately shouldn't be necessary.
When Hip63 (he, of who we are not worthy!) constructed the CD-ROM ISO installer, he managed to include all the most recent patches available for the Manalink.
You will probably need to install the 'MTG 2010 Multiplayer.zip' mentioned in the first post to get the Multi-player to work though.
http://www.mediafire.com/?jnmlywtrj2z
There is a list of all the available cards in the CD-ROM ISO version of the game included in the Card Art update.
None of those you mention are in there unfortunately.
Sorry.
To give you an idea, here is what I posted in the FAQ thread:
Can you help direct me to the patch that includes the cards I mentioned? Thanks in advance.mzepol wrote:Newbie here. Kudos for bringing this game back and adding tons of new cards. I'm really excited to play this game again. It's been a while since I've played M:tG.
I have installed DotP 2010 edition and applied the Manalink 2.0 patch, I also applied the Manalink201 patch and on top of that I applied the patch that includes MagicLimited.exe, MagicCustom.exe and Patch.exe (i think it was dated 20100528 - not sure about the exact date). I can build decks that includes cards such as Sneak Attack, Necropotence, Serra Avatar, etc. But when I try to play a Duel against the computer using the deck I just made (ex. Sneak Attack), no cards appear on my hand and lose on the next turn when I draw cards because I literally have none. I tried using one of the default decks (A Royal Pain) and had the computer use my custom deck (Sneak Attack). A Royal Pain loaded successfully for me, but when the computer's turn came it lost on the draw phase because it had no cards as well. Did I do something wrong with the installation? The problem is, when I don't apply the latest patch that contains MagicCustom.exe,MagicLimited.exe and Patch.exe, the cards like Sneak Attack, Serra Avatar, Mind Over Matter, Cursed Scroll, etc. do not appear in Deck Builder.
Do I really need to apply the Manalink201 patch to get the above mentioned cards? OR do I just need the DotP installer, Mok's Manalink2.0 patch and the 20100528 patches to get the cards I mentioned?
Pls. help.

The fact you mention MagicCustom.exe and MagicLimited.exe tells me you are currently using the version of the game maintained in the 'Installation' Wiki.
http://www.slightlymagic.net/wiki/Installation
The Latest Code Patch files in the 'installation' wiki are the current versions.
But, as far as I can tell, the compiled artwork zips for the cards in the wiki are slightly out of date.
You would need to download the card artwork files in the wiki first, then refer to most recent updates posted in the Manalink 2.0 forum to track down the latest separate posted artwork files.

Updated CardArtNew 061110
by Huggybaby » 12 Jun 2010, 19:40
Thanks to Sonic, we have another CardArtNew update. In addition to the fixes and additions, he added some notes to the fantastic pdf instructions/card list.
I asked sonic how he determines whether a correction is needed at all. He said
Corrected number of available images for Shivan Zombie from 2 to 1
Corrected number of available images for Mortify from 1 to 2
Added 3 alternative images for the Saproling token
Added 2 alternative images for the Soldier token, and included flavor text
Added artwork from ‘Rise of the Eldrazi’ to Glory Seeker, Naturalize, and Regress

Various other card text corrections

I asked sonic how he determines whether a correction is needed at all. He said
I don't follow all that, but it sounds to me like, at the least, we could really use a complete list of paramter entries. Here's what's new in this update:It's a long winded process of looking at the manalink files and checking that the abilities of the cards matches the parameter entries.
Problem is - although there is some available information on what each of the parameters does, it is incomplete.
To complicate matters, over the years, individual card entries have been copied and altered to add new cards. Now some cards with similar abilities have totally different parameter entries. So the only way to figure out what works in some cases is to use trial and error.

I've come across the Mishra's Factory bug myself. The card plays fine for the player, but, as you say, the AI has some problems with it.Aswan jaguar wrote:1 bug when AI tries to activate mishras factory and has no mana the game hangs as it tries several times to activate the ability and i get a message"no room..smt it will cause the card to behave improperly".

From how it plays, it looks as if the AI is trying to turn the card into an Assembly Worker using the

Maze of Ith. Yes.
'Untap target attacking creature. Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt to and dealt by that creature this turn.'
Obviously you can't untap a creature attacking with vigilance, because the creature doesn't tap during an attack - so the first instruction is ignored. But the second instruction can be followed as the creature can deal and sustain damage.

New guy with a question that I imagine has been asked 1000 times or better.
Could someone please tell me how I can create my own cards to use? I apologize if this has been answered several times here, I have searched the internet & the forums over the last 2 weeks & can't seem to find a direct answer.
Is there any kind of software out there that I could use to do this, or do I have to edit some files myself? And if so, which ones & what programs are best? I have tried editing a few of the .csv files found in the directory, but obviously that didn't work & I don't know enough about this type of stuff to really understand exactly what I'm looking for to be honest. I don't play online at all so I just need something for single player.
Any help would greatly appreciated!
P.S. Thanks to anyone & everyone that put this installer together....great work!

Thanks alot Sonic. I appreciate it.
I've been messing around with it for a little while now, following the level 0 tutorial. Having some trouble getting the "created" cards to show up in deck builder. I read on here somewhere to run csv2dat.exe but still not seeing the cards.
Anyhow, nevermind that. When I get time tomorrow I'll post my problem over to the section you posted. Thanks again!

Hello there. I was wondering if there is a possibility to make shandalar reprogrammed for futher improvements with all kind of new card updates or a new eternal shandalar Version 2 or something to make a whole new adventure game.I ment more like all cards if possible as well to update every expansion in future up to 2010 all latest release M11 from june 2010. if all different card and mechanics could be added and a superior much bigger game support high resolution make new sub dungeons and big castels with many floors etc etc.
this is just anidea at least would be really awesome if shandalar could be modifyed with all new cards updates and new CPU monsters and players and more dungeons.

Like it says in the first post: 2) If you have questions about modifying this game, please ask in the Manalink 2.0 forum. There are a crapload of expansions already.

Hi all. Not sure if this is the correct spot in which to post this, as I am new to the forum ... First of all, so glad to see this installer, and so thankful to all of you for keeping it alive! I actually bought this game when it was first released ...
I am having some trouble getting multiplayer working. When I launch MTG, I am not getting a blue gem. I used regedit to make sure that Manalink was set to "ON", and when it starts, I get a message at the top of the screen saying "It is not possible to use the AutoConnect feature at this time. Please try to connect manually." I can't find any information pertaining to this error message, so any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I am dying to get some multiplayer in!!
