TheMagicWizard, I concur with your sentiment, but I've been watching these guys for a while. It's amazing of them to put this time into it, and I can't imagine for much pay if any. I've found it's easiest to just resign yourself to a month or two lag behind release for when the pictures become available.

I don't think that it is bad for someone just ask one question? He didn't told something like "what are you doing where are the pics". All knows that the HQ team is making superb work and the result will be A+. They make something that I and many others don't know how to do ,so every single release I truly thank them for the hours they spend for something that so many people will use!! Because me too I press refresh every 10 mins just to see the post that will have the links(ohh yeahh) I find it useful to know when it will be out.

we never made any money from this, quite on the contrary.
And thank you for the kind words. We stand behind quality and not deadlines. So, well, wait.
And it will be ready sometime this week.

Well off course I respect your work. What you guys do is amazing. But I am asking my self how much time does it need to edit the scans to make them look equaly. I thought you are edit the scans as soon as you get it, even if there are some scans missing.
For me the "problem" is, that I generally play with the "new" cards most a short while after a release. A extrem example: There wouldn't be much interest in Scans of a Core Set if the set is allready rotated out of T2.

You are missing the point: what we do here doesn't have anything to do with MWS. We are not related to them in any way. True, GH makes a masterbase for mws which has probably become the standard, but it's actually Magic Album that is his priority, and that is not for playing.
But what you do with our images is your problem. Incidentally, scans may be used for playing with that software. But you can very well use the small scans, which are available extremely quickly after release, from Gatherer (and they are available for m11). In fact, they may be better for playing, for ex I don't use hqs for playing, but extremely small images, when I do play mws, which is very rarely. I like real cards a lot better for playing. There is a certain je ne sais quoi about smelling those hugely overpriced cardboard rectangles and about the interaction with real flesh and bone opponents you may call friends (and various names I can't reproduce here, as well). It's probably called reality.
What we really do here is collector stuff: a virtual encyclopedia of card images as close to the real stuff as possible. That is why we redo many old sets that may be uninteresting for the playing community. We are a lot more collectors than players in the end (maybe because we are not very young anymore, surprisingly, some of us are in their sixties).
The scans need quite a bit of work and time - cutting and dusting can be very time consuming for large sets. Since we aren't kids who don't have anything else to do, we do it when we can. That is why we will never be able to set deadlines. Sometimes we release stuff before the official release, it has happened before. Sometimes it takes a month.
Oh, and we never ever release an incomplete set (unless it's something unfindable like Edgar, maybe).
Hope this clears any misunderstandings

@extreme Maybe you should make a how to for the program you use to edit the cards. I mean if you use photoshop make a tutorial for what someone must do to make the work you do. With that maybe someone figure out how works and split the work in half. I know a little bit of photoshop ,if there isn't something extreme(I hope your name doesn't to do with that lol) I can help(or someone who knows better). After all that you could make any adjustments needed.

i already have help from asbest. Besides, we must be all control freaks for consistent quality.
Thank you, we'll possibly be interested in the future. There's no secret here, it's just a question of experience doing tens of thousands of cards. Yes, i use photoshop.
there's another hidden thing here: I'm also waiting for woogerboy to get the remaining 2 cards, which is gonna happen this week - it is much better to have all the scans from the same guy.

Yes, you guys are incredibly awesome!! I hope my question didn't imply otherwise. My wife & I are just anxious to get the new scans, but we will patiently wait. I thank you again for all your time and hard work!
