Ideas for new version

Postby hexdef101 » 22 Nov 2010, 04:35

online play as an option
the ability to play more then a best of three game

a slightly easier gui system
a. make all ai actions automatic unless action is required by player.
b. simplified play phase...most games I have ever played tend to use the simpler phase order of Lands,Creatures-Sorcery-Enchantment-Artifact-Instants,Attack/Block-Instants,Cleanup format (forgive me if I forgot a step) with most of the phases sorta run into each other.

otherwise I love it

Online play might be a low priority for the dev team. Although, it is hard to predict what sort of interests that members of the dev team might develop at one point or another. :D

A number of people have requested that the missing phases be added to the game. The next beta will likely please these people. We hope to add a feature that would let people "turn off" some of the phase stops. I guess that this will appear first as a pull-down menu.

A graphical representation of the phase stops on the battlefield would be really nice but this would added at a later date.

Depends on the expectation of "online play". If Player vs Player, then no, this will never be an option. Plenty of other projects for that, or MTGO itself. If it means playing live from a website without downloading, then it's certainly an option we can get back to, since someone did that but it was live for only a month.

If you check the first page of the Forge forum, you will see a Feature Request Thread.

thanks for the info...The whole online play idea was just something i thought about, seemed simpler then trying to make an ai thats capable of true "thought". i figured something along the lines of a direct port to port connection or basic connection to allow one system to send and receive the card info. MTGO isn't an option as i run linux, forge can be run native on linux by just loading the .jar

I will look foward to the option of a simplified phase option and other options.
