I am now 6-8 with an imported Sliver deck made several versions ago. Starting with 20 life and no pets/walls.
Sol, that combo could get very nasty, if you can get it to go off.

Using a quest I started in the March 4th beta with the March 18th beta, I am 34-54. I just got spanked with my DragonsV deck and an animated Stirring Wildwood, so those seem to be working as intended... unfortunately. I am currently playing with my entire collection of cards, which rounds out to almost 2500 at the moment. I might just have an AI deck coming soon. I'm thinking about trying my original paper magic deck, which was a red/blue flying fatty deck.

I have a number of interesting and weird ideas for some more quest AI decks. It has been a long time since I contributed to this portion of the project. I have a few other tasks to finish first and I hate to leave too many loose ends.

It has been awhile since my last quest that I decided to start one up again. We have changed a number of the old quest decks and added a handful of new ones.
Today I was able to finally figure out how to fix the sorting by the rarity bug and got it working correctly. As a bonus, cards that you win in the quest now show up at the top of the card list when you sort by rarity.
Here is my 40 card BU quest deck after one win and no losses:

I guess you've used the standard card pool. It's so much more powerful than the average complete pool, it's close to cheating.Chris H. wrote:It has been awhile since my last quest that I decided to start one up again. We have changed a number of the old quest decks and added a handful of new ones.

Yeah, I used the "Standard (Type 2) Starting Pool". This is my first quest since that feature was added. It is a nice feature for those of us who need a wee bit of help to get a nice starting deck without importing a killer deck.
My first opponent was the new kobold deck. I barely won that match. I was able to get out the Ulamog's Crusher on the third game and that was the deciding factor.

Yea I feel like when you play with the Standard Pool it's so much easier to get an Infect deck rolling and cash in on the bonus bucks provided.Sloth wrote:I guess you've used the standard card pool. Should we include more format definitions? Like Extended or the new Modern?

I'm sure some users would appreciate Modern Magic, but maybe we should wait until Wizards will really make it an official format (otherwise users won't know the terminology).Rob Cashwalker wrote:Should we include more format definitions? Like Extended or the new Modern?

Someone suggested that it might be fun to start with a card pool that comes from a specific set.

We don't know if it will stick. This represents only a proposal and an experiment. Self-contained events like the Community Cup are a perfect way for us to get data about potential new formats; by running Modern at the Community Cup, we will be able to get some data about what the format looks like, and we will be able to judge what you, the public, think about it. For now, that is our only goal.
Some of you have speculated about what we plan to do with the format, and have wondered in various forums whether it may be a replacement for some other format we currently support. We haven't gotten that far. We could just add this to our stable of formats, as it fills a role that no other format does. I don't think any of us know what, if anything, will happen in the future with it.

Psssh. You expect me to read articles now? I thought the fact that a tournament was holding the format would be official (albeit experimental) enough.

I think it would be nice if quest mode worked around boosters too. Like, picking your boosters on start, then get boosters as you win, perhap buy boosters on the shop.
