Forge Beta: 09-30-2011 ver 1.1.5 rev 10795

(Quest icons used created by Teekatas, from his Legendora set http://raindropmemory.deviantart.com)

9176 cards in total.

This beta is primarily a maintenance release. Some of the new Innistrad cards had typos. There was a bug with the quest mode in the last beta which apparently breaks the quest after 10 wins. These problems should be fixed in this version.

We have changed the archiving format to ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to decompress these archives.

The Mac OS application version:

We have packaged the Forge 09-30-2011 BETA version as a Mac OS application. You can double click the Forge.app icon to launch the forge application on your Apple computer running Mac OS. This application will automatically increase the java heap space memory for you as it launches. This version does not require the forge.command file and it does not need to start the Terminal application as part of the start up process.

You can move a copy of your pictures and decks over to the Forge.app application. Right click or control click on the Forge.app icon. Select Show Package Contents form the contextual menu. A Finder window will open and will display a folder named Contents. Navigate to the folder:

/Contents/Resources/Java/res/

Your decks can be placed in the decks folder, your pics can be placed in the pics folder, etc.

Many people helped with this version. A special thank you goes out to them. (Attempted to list names alphabetically):

ArsenalNut
Dave
Doublestrike
Friar Sol
Hellfish
Marc
Max mtg
Night Shadow
Nordos
Rob Cashwalker

This may sound trivial to most users, but this is the first beta since a long time that is tuned to be released. Notably we fixed all serious bugs we were aware of and tried not to produce new ones.

We hope to continue with this practice, so people who enjoy a stable release can rely on the betas (those who want the newest gadgets can always grab the nightly builds at their own risk).

I tried creating a sealed Innistrad game, but AI dis not add any basic lands to its deck.

hi, Standstill is sacrificing everything on play for both players (itself, lands, entchantments, creatures, artifacts)

topic aside, why cardnames aren't highlighted on my posts?

Fixed! Thanks Night Shadow.

It's always the first word in a post that won't be recognized.

I must be both blind and stupid, I can't seems to find anywhere where it tells me how to 'install' the token, booster, pet-images or any images at all..

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

the normal images can be downloaded in the forge menu - just search a bit for it :D You should find it pretty fast.
Other images can be download seperatly (like the tokens, Boosters, ...) - these you have to extract into the forge\res\pics folder. (if the zip contains a folder, like Booster or Tokens, just leave it, and put the folder into the pics folder.

And btw - since when am I in the 'special thanks' list? :S

In the past we have tried to remember to include people for contributing card scripts for new cards to the project. It is not required that a person have commit privs to be included in the thank you list.

When using Reflecting Pool it detects the correct mana colors your lands can produce, but it doesn't add it to your mana pool.

I've been playing quest mode, and when the computer casts Show And Tell neither of us have any opportunity to put anything into play. The spell just goes on the stack, then off the stack and nothing happens.

Edit:

Again in quest mode - the challenge against a Darksteel Reactor.
The charge counters on the Darksteel Reactor carry over across games. For example, if you kill the computer when it has 12 counters, you go to game 2 of the match and the reactor still has 12 counters.

Thanks for all the work you guys put into this, I especially like the fast new deck builder interface!

Is there any instructions on where I am supposed to be putting all of the images?

From a recent addition to forge's readme.txt file:

Picture location info:

The quest opponent icons jpg picture files go into your /res/pics/icons folder. The quest pet icons jpg picture files go into your /res/pics/icons folder. The quest booster package jpg picture files go into your /res/pics/booster folder. The card token jpg picture files go into your /res/pics/tokens folder.

Your forge game may not come with one or more of these three folders as part of the forge archive. In this case you should use your computer's OS file system to create the proper folders with the correct names and they must be located inside of the /res/pics/ folder.

Perhaps you know this, but the random foiling feature still isn't working quite right. If I have a foil swamp, every swamp seems to get foil, and so on.

A few cards with secondary effects don't seem to be working properly. For example neither Path to Exile nor Ghost Quarter allow you to search out a land, and Exhume doesn't allow the opposing player to return a creature to the battlefield, only the caster. There may be others, but these are the only ones I've noticed.
