hi all,

I tried all decks and one is above of the pack : persistent of life which is similary to the "soul sister" deck. It's a very strong deck !!!one of the greatest !! nearly 95% winning against other decks.

The second is the vampire deck and a less more the demon deck. Good decks ! The demon deck is really fun to play and with attention, it's a competitive deck. nearly 85% winning if mana arrives very fast !

Goblin charge deck for me isn't a good dec. So many creatures, yes, but very weak !! i lost against a garruck deck (sniff !!) I prefer cheezy goblins deck which is better and more agressive. We want goblins faster in the battlefield and no in hands !! that's the difference !

The faerieland deck is a good deck if we possess the combo cards. I enjoy to play it !

The bushido deck is also a good deck but only defensing. The best defense in this deck is attack when not a blue deck !

Sliver deck may be one of the strongest deck if the mana we want (white !!!!!!) arrives very fast. Good deck !!! and one of my favorite !!

macro machine and myr are weak deck of artifacts : thinker ideas deck is one the most powerful (thinker + colossus)

Giant deck is a good choice but slow to make in place (i have thought to create one too but i forgot because so slow)Titan decks are better

Elemental fury : Yes you're right Firemind. It is a hard deck !! I lost 70% of the matches with it !

So with these decks, for next french magic tournaments, i choice a life deck. The "soul sister" or "persistent of life" deck is very, very strong !! (and cost less than a reborn deck !!!!! )

And finally again, you make a great job and no bugs at all to notice !

finally I get some free time to spare playing, and I must say that, I love those decks, of course, without dual lands, they loose some punch, but as TheFiremind said, the purpose of those decks is fun, and its something that all decks (more or less) archived, so IMHO, its a great job.

Also, with so many different cards in every deck, Its easy to make your own less fun-more competitive deck, just add some dual lands, put 4* top tier cards till you get 60 cards, "et voila!!".

It's a pity that in DoTP2012 you need to extract, modify and re-compress, so make deck editing a bit tedious, but if you really want to improve some decks, you can do it.

Anyway, good job, thanks for sharing, and hope you keep doing those awesome decks.

Also, there is a bug in "Power to tokens!", Intangible Virtue, doesnt give Vigilance to tokens.

If I find more bugs, I'll report.

Thanks for the feedback! I found the bug on Intangible Virtue, I was giving vigilance to the enchantment itself... sometimes copying and pasting leads to this.

Great Decks, many fun to me.
But: Arcbound Reclaimer didn't work to me. I can not select its ability.
Nevertheless, a great work

Thanks for the feedback! I wrote CARD_TYPE_CREATURE instead of CARD_TYPE_ARTIFACT and I never noticed the bug until now, probably because I always reclaimed artifact creatures. #-o

I finally completed testing all your 26 decks (you forgot to mention The New Mill deck from your list which I enjoyed playing). Thanks for the hard work. I think a lot of the tribal decks should have a Coat of Arms or two in them to powerup those small creatures (Myr, Sliver, for example).

I do miss those dual lands from others' DLC.

You're right, I was missing the mill deck on the list. I added it.
Coat of Arms is a nice idea! When I started coding cards I was a bit afraid of implementing it because it's complicated (even if we have the example of Alpha Status which is similar), then I forgot about it. I guess I'm expert enough to make it now. :D

I'm planning to add a Soldiers deck with as many "pump" effects as possible (you can already find Daru Warchief and Veteran Armorer in the card pool). When I'm done with it, I'll probably start reviewing all the decks.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks again, my friend ! And thanks for the Nyxathid card so i will be able to create the No hands deck. For the Big Hand deck, one creature who will be the best is the Sturmgeist, no ? A blue/black deck (4 Iron Maiden, 4 Howling Mine, 4 Sturmgeist, 4 Underworld Dreams, 4 The Black Vise, 4 Mana Leak, 4 Counterspell, 4 Repulse, 12 Swamps, 12 Islands, 2 Jin-Gitaxias, Core-Augur, 2 Demonic Tutor (or Jace'Ingenuity but less cheaper). One card to create : the Sturmgeist.

how to extract Data_DLC_1999.wad

Postby tarutaru » 08 Apr 2012, 01:18

First of all thank you so much for your hard work so that we may enjoy more Magic fun.

I just have a question. Do you know what tool I can use to extract Data_DLC_1999.wad? I have been using Wad Archive Program and it has worked for all the other wad files, but when I try to extract this one it says "Reading file offsets" and just does that indefinitely.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sturmgeist is inside, too. I also made Soramaro, First to Dream, but Sturmgeist costs 1 less mana so it's more efficient.

I use Gibbed Tools for packing and unpacking, but, for obvious reasons, I have never had the need to unpack my own DLC. They say Wadprogram is less prone to crashing, so I guess Gibbed Tools would be even worse... but I don't know the reason for this problem. Anyone else with a solution? I could upload the unpacked DLC but I'd prefer to find a definitive solution.

The first thing to address is the command-line you use. WadProgram uses Java, and its VM is kinda' archaic w/ respect to command-line options. Are you using something like, "java -Xmx1024M -jar WadProgram.jar" ?

If that doesn't work, I guess it's possible that WadProgram doesn't like to read uncompressed wads. TBH, I don't remember ever trying. Off the top of my head, I'd say that the second or third chunk in a wad file is a matrix that assigns an index to each file (and in the case of "signed" wads, a hash of some sort). In uncompressed wad files, this chunk seems to generally be omitted. Maybe it's tripping up the wadprogram. Dunno.

I can use WadProgram to compress my DLC if people prefer it. But you should provide me a version that works... I downloaded a WadProgram.jar and used it, but the resulting DLC was unreadable by the game. Or maybe I have to do something on the directory before packing it with WadProgram?

Chances are, you just gave it the wrong directory as an argument.

Hey!

I just wanna share my experience.

I grabbed the 2012 Gibbed's tools version, to extract the DLC data, cause with Wad Program becomes stuck at "Reading file offsets", and after make a new deck, I used Wad Program to compress, and happily notice that the DLC size goes down from 109Mb, to 78,4Mb (and It got an extra deck).

I'm not sure, if Gibbed's tools got some kind of bug, that add extra size to the file, or may be uses another kind of compression, but may be some experts want throw some light..

BTW, myr deck/power to tokens!, with Gaea's Cradle + Tolarian Academy = too much fun

Thanks for the feeback guys.

Aborash, I used your method and it worked.

Firemind, if you want to pack it using WadProgram, I've attached it here.

Happy casting :)
