MTGForge 02/08 (unofficial BETA) version
by DennisBergkamp » 09 Feb 2009, 19:57
Another new Beta!
Fixes:
- Slivers now correctly give abilities to ALL slivers.
- Cavern Harpy shouldn't stay tapped anymore when it gets returned to hand.
- creatures with both Lifelink and First Strike should only give life once now.
- Computer will use the sacrifice saprolings for 2 life ability of Elvish Farmer when it is at low life levels.
- Valor, Anger, Wonder now only work if the corresponding land is controlled.
- Troll Ascetic will regenerate now...
New stuff:
- pictures are downloaded/read in a subfolder called "pics" now (Thanks Helza!)
- Rob's new TargetedKPump (I added Merrow Levitator, Advance Scout and Dauthi Trapper) - there should be a bunch more cards that can be added through this keyword.
- Added in the card state checks (for cards like Glorious Anthem, Slivers, Kobold Overlord) in some more places, at the very least, whenever the game transitions to a new phase it should do a check.
- Some random new cards:
Horde of Notions (will put Elemental creature into play, instead of playing it for free)
Primordial Sage
Knight of the White Orchid
Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind (could use some testing)
Greener Pastures
Phyrexian Arena
Hoofprints of the Stag
Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker (probably buggy, complex card, please test a lot)
Land Tax (I couldn't believe this card wasn't made in MTGForge yet)
Enlightened Tutor (same)
Gerrard's Command
Squee, Goblin Nabob
Child of Alara
Reflex Sliver
Fervor
Mass Hysteria
Concordant Crossroads
Rhox Bodyguard
Sigil of the Empty Throne
Rakka Mar
Giltspire Avenger (only able to target creatures that dealt COMBAT damage this turn, won't be able to kill Prodigal Sorcerer after a ping)
Meglonoth
Convalescent Care
I attempted to fix Sensation Gorger, but haven't been able to. Cards that trigger during the upkeep and cause draws currently do not work (except for Howling Mine and now Phyrexian Arena - because they don't use abilities that get put onto the stack). Anyway, this has to do with jpb's extra card draw fix, which prevents the incorrect extra draw that happens sometimes, but also prevents the drawing of cards from cards like Sensation Gorger.

Thank you for this update. I just downloaded the file and have not yet had a chance to take a close look.
I happened to notice a very small thing in the name. It made me smile.
You named the file "MTGForge0108.rar" and we are now into February. My how time flies.

I have not had a chance to download jpgs with the newest version yet. Will test that when I have finished the update.

Attached below you will find an updated card-pictures.txt file. This file contains the urls for the 27 new cards included in MTG Forge 02-08. It also includes the removal of 15 extra duplicated urls.
The new jpgs will appear in the root directory for Forge. You will want to move them to the pics subdirectory.

I forgot to add one line from Helza's patch. This will be fixed for the next version (maybe I'll upload one today so that pictures can get downloaded correctly).Pictures are still downloading into root folder of application
I'll also include Chris' updated card-pictures.txt and Jokulhaups

I was curious about the new target pump commands and was hopping that all three types would be included. As a test I added the following three cards and found that TgtPTPump and TgtPTKPump do not work.
Fyndhorn Bow
2
Artifact
no text
TgtKPump 3 T:First Strike
Nantuko Disciple
3 G
Creature Insect Druid
no text
2/2
TgtPTPump G T:+2/+2
Skarrg, the Rage Pits
no cost
Land
no text
tap: add 1
TgtPTKPump R G T:+1/+1/Trample
Will we see these two target pump commands added at a later date or am I confused?](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)

Chris,
Yes it seems that currently Rob has "only" (it's a great addition imo) implemented TgtKPump.... hopefully TgtPTPump/TgtPTKPump will follow

Yes, they're coming.... I wanted the KPump to get some play first, because of the complications of trying to handle the three forms of costs. I haven't had much time lately to finish TgtPTPump.DennisBergkamp wrote:Chris,

Chris - You might as well compile the lists for TgtPT and TgtPTK for the next release. Compiling these lists used to be half the fun....
The Force will be with you, Always.

I compiled the list several weeks ago. I have (minus Dennis' additions) a total of 44 more creatures, artifacts and lands that can be added using your target pump commands.Rob Cashwalker wrote:Yes, they're coming.... Some people have mentioned that they would like to take a turn at creating some cards via the keywords. I could be convinced to provide the gatherer data for the cards that only need the implemented TgtKPump command.
I also see that the keyword listing should be updated. I will attend to that in a while.

This attachment is for Dennis. This is a repair to the all-decks2 file.
I deleted the 4 test decks and I re-entered the five decks that would not load. These decks had the miss-spelled versions of Leaf Gilder and Cloudseeder.
This all-decks2 file can be used by those people who are new to Forge and have not yet had a chance to modify their own copy of the all-decks2 file.
The five repaired decks are:
4-color.deck
blue-battle-wits.deck
green-elf-pump.deck
w-akroma.deck
wg-akroma.deck

This attachment is for Dennis. This zip file contains just the 5 repaired deck files and includes the txt card listing that comes with the export deck command.
This file might be useful to those people who have already modified their all-decks2 file.
