1440x900 xc 32 bit colors
Make an experiment: play a game with a creature that has at least 1 static ability (eg. tundra wolves, with first strike) and press "Stamp R Sist" on your keyboard to capture an image of your screen.
Then, crop that image until you obtain a single game icon: check its pixels in height and width. Then resize the abilities.bmp file in width (mantain proportions) to match the in-game icon size.
In my case, it is 30 pixels but in yours it may be different.
Don't know why, but those icons are jagged even with original game icons while counters are always flawless.

Yes, I noticed that too, which is quite weird since they have the same source, anyway I will do it when I am back...at workDon't know why, but those icons are jagged even with original game icons while counters are always flawless.

If you resize an icon, make sure that the white background of the transparency area (black circle with white background on the very bottom) is solid white.
it may blend the black background into it a little which will result in a line above the icon in the game.

Yes, it is like for me with original Saralc's icons.
From your screenshot, they appear 21x21 pixels: you have to resize the file until icons perfectly match your in-game size, because the game's scaling engine sucks. Try starting with a width of 23 pixels, keep proportions to preserve height ratio with width.

They are much better thanks for the editing, however it's going to be a bit annoying if the icon can't adapt themselves to screen resolution =/

this works for me, and now looks pretty good
the problem its not the programs it is the resolution of the image...

Indeed, I must admit that I can't see any difference among the 2 ones, once they are used in the game.

No, I have written the opposite: I DO NOT see any difference. Snapshots are here just as evidence of that.

I may have found the problem. The transparency circle on the bottom had the wrong layer loaded in photoshop.
All the icons i made in illustrator first, then imported to photoshop to keep as much detail as possible and to make it easy to update a change.
But when I further inspected there was an old layer turned on which made the edges not as sharp.
(The transparency block on the bottom has to be Black & White with NO grey)
I deleted that layer so the new layer I created was visible instead.
Here is a zip with all three border types. Please check if this fixed the problem. (They are the full res versions 88x88px)

They look good in my 1920x1080 16:9 version , and indeed raising the pixel resolution made it better.
Will check for the 1027x768 4:3 version tomorrow at work
