Forge Beta: 06-25-2012 ver 1.2.9
(Quest icons used created by Teekatas, from his Legendora set http://raindropmemory.deviantart.com)
10890 cards in total.
With the addition of Havengul Lich we now have our first 100% implemented expert level expansion, Dark Ascension.
There was a bug in the previous version which prevented the token pics of many cards from displaying on the battlefield. This should now be fixed.
Draft mode should no longer cause a crash when you start a new draft.
People using java 7 should be able to play forge without getting the crash reports that stated "Comparison method violates it's general contract!".
--
The work on the new UI is now finished. We should not expect major changes or major additions to the UI. Future betas may include a few minor bug fixes to the UI. And we may also include a few minor tweaks.
Selecting a package of cards in the quest mode card shop will not display the packages in the card picture and card detail panels.
Draft mode will cause a crash report when you start a new draft. We are aware of this problem and we hope to be able to fix it at some point in the future. You can use version 1.2.7 to play draft mode games in the mean time.
Some people have noticed special quests do not have the start in play cards appearing. And some people have noticed that a match can start without any cards appearing in the players hands or in their libraries. We hope to have this problem fixed at some point in the future.
We are now using a different system for our snapshot and beta releases. Unfortunately, this new system builds a jar file which does not accurately display the SVN revision number.
Forge may not be fully java 7 compatible at this time. We recommend that people downgrade to java 6.
--
The Forge archive includes a readme.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove useful. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.
We have changed the archival format used for the Forge distributions from ".zip" to ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.
Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.
Many people helped with this version. A special thank you goes out to them. (Attempted to list names alphabetically):

Hi,
the card prices for quest are still a bit off (with regard to version 1.2.7). Bad commons/uncommons from legends/revised etc. shouldn't be 400+ credits..
Could it be that the new UI is significantly slower as the old one? Selling 10 cards goes quickly and smoothly in version 1.2.7 but is a bit cumbersome in this one..
thnx!

I've enchanted my opponent with Curse of Misfortunes. It's ability triggers during my upkeep, but it does nothing when it resolves. I have multiple other curses in my deck.

I'm not sure if it was mentioned in one of the older release threads, but the workaround for starting a new draft is to just open the deck editor.

Hi,
I play a Clone, paying blue and white mana, and copy Court Hussar.
I assumed my copied court hussar should survive, but forge does not recognize the white mana I paid.
Bug or some specific ruling about cloning?
thnx

5/1/2006 If this enters the battlefield in a way other than announcing it as a spell, then the appropriate mana can’t have been paid, and you’ll have to sacrifice it.

Hi,
as serrasmurf already said, the memory problems increased extremely since the update to version 1.2.8 - the new quest shop.
In addition 2 lists of cards in the shop side-by-side makes all colums very small which isn't arranged very clearly.
as serrasmurf already said, the memory problems increased extremely since the update to version 1.2.8 - the new quest shop.
I'm using a Macintosh laptop with a 14" wide screen. Until version 1.2.7 I had once per buying-selling-session a 3-5 minute break. Since 1.2.8 each time buying a fat pack or a starter pack knocks out my game for 3-5 minutes.serrasmurf wrote:i'm having some memory problems

My Reflecting Pool can produce red mana while i don't control a land that can produce red mana. Computer has mountains in play. Perhaps they are also counted for my Reflecting Pool ?

1.2.9. Beta -
When the AI attacks with Springjack Knight, the clash doesn't go off. It goes on the stack, but says "targeting error", and the revealing of cards, etc., doesn't happen.
Springjack Knight works as expected when the human player attacks with it.

This is probably a known issue but thought I would mention it in case it isn't. I copied a creature with Phantasmal Image and it was subsequently targeted by Tumble Magnet. This produced an error which if I ignored and carried on resulted in the tapping of the creature not it going to the gy.

Sorry I only got to fixing this now. Just finished a two week contract working an average 14 hours a day so barely managed to glance at the site, let alone fix things. I've uploaded the fixed image now, so delete the old one and download again.Xitax - From 1.2.8 wrote:What's the token filename of Dragon Broodmother 's 1/1 RG Dragons? "rg_1_1_dragon.jpg" doesn't work. I've tried many variations but haven't hit it yet.
@moomarc: Plant wall level 5 is missing the title block![]()
The Dragon Broodmother token downloads as gr_1_1_dragon.jpg but the automatic token filename generator didn't seem to work for it, so just add this to the end of the SVar:TrigToken line in the script (I've obviously committed the fix to svn as well so you could just grab the next build if you want to do it that way instead):
- Code: Select all
| TokenImage$ GR 1 1 dragon

During the computers draw phase this error pops up. The log only shows that turn 14 started, there is nothing on the stack.
