Actually, it is not uncommon in the software world for version numbers to go to x.x.10, x.x.11, x.x.12, etc.

We may end up with a 1.3 at some point.

I've read too many bug reports on issues already fixed. How about a new beta next week (after the clones have been through some testing)?

Should we try to include M13 cards?

We could go for Monday July 9 or Friday July 13.

This would still give us a few weeks to get out the following 1.2.11 beta.

I think next week with M13 could work. It is nice to be able to get the new sets out quickly once they are released. Was there a reason you suggested the end of the month at first?

The tentative release target date was set to the end of the month as I will be moving very shortly thereafter. I am not sure how long it will take me before I find myself settled down and unpacked.

I would like to get out another release or two before I move.

I was considering making an announcement on Monday the 9th. A "M13 prerelease party" to give our testers a chance to test the new cards and their scripts. I will provide a link to the snapshot build as the beta will be released later in the week.

Beta version 1.2.10 can be released on Friday the 13th. This will give us a few days to fix any scripting bugs that may be detected this week before we release the 1.2.10 beta.

This schedule will give us about 2 and 1/2 weeks for the 1.2.11 beta release. I would like to release 1.2.11 on Monday the 30th.

I am considering releasing 1.2.10 as 1.3.0.

The 1.2.10 number is causing some limited confusion among our user base. While I am sure that people would get used to this after awhile I think that it may be best for all concerned for us to jump to 1.3.0 at this time.

It will be fairly easy for me to edit the pom file in Eclipse to make the change itself.

I want to give people a chance to think about this and to discuss any problems that this may cause. :)

One potential problem is that with the number of releases we have we'd reach 1.9.9 in 4 and a bit years (assuming a release every 3 weeks). Hopefully by then we would have made some major improvement like multiplayer support or something that would make a Forge 2.0.0 viable but if not we're stuck with going into extra digits anyway.

But I'm not concerned one way or the other. I'd personally stick to 1.2.xx because I'm sure that most of the users have seen v1.xx.xxxx often enough not to think in normal decimals, and with them grabbing the downloads directly from the forums now I'm sure they've noticed that its always the newest beta stickied for download.

I'd prefer 1.2.xx for now. I don't think it's that big of a deal, and the flip over from single digits to double digits will only happen once. Once we hit 1.3, we should probably force a second digit to begin with 1.3.00

Please keep it at 1.2.xx and do not use 1.3.00. The "00" will cause problems with Maven. It is strange that people are confused with the idea that numbers can be greater than 9 :|

I would like to thank everyone for their input. :)

We will stick to the 1.2.xx series at this time. People will get used to this after awhile. While the dir listing can cause some confusion things will become obvious after a couple of releases.

I thought about the "00" and agree with Dave that this could cause some problems for Maven.

I just figured the ordering would be kept on the ftp site if we used double numbers (01 < 03 < 10) instead of (1 < 10 < 3). But if Maven doesn't like it, then there's no reason to do it.
