Random Sets in quest card shop?
by Jaedayr » 29 Aug 2012, 21:35
I know that there is no longer a new set of random cards except after playing a match. However, I just noticed that for a particular card that is present in more than one set, the set IS random every time you go to the shop. What this means is that if you see a card you want but at a high price, exit and reenter the shop and see if it shows up in a lower cost set. Is this intended, or a bug?

I am surprised to learn that cards' costs change by set.
That might be reasonable if the price list is imported from some real-word prices, where card edition matters. Not sure if this is a bug.

I believe what Jaedayr is saying is that the actual set that a card belongs to in the shop isn't saved along with the name. Since the prices are imported from real world data, an Alpha Birds of Paradise might cost 50k credits, where a M12 one will only cost 500. Since the set isn't saved, he can quit in the middle of a quest session. Return to the store, and get a reduced price.Max mtg wrote:I am surprised to learn that cards' costs change by set.

Should we keep the randomizer seed to initialize the shop inside the quest save then?friarsol wrote:I believe what Jaedayr is saying is that the actual set that a card belongs to in the shop isn't saved along with the name. I don't have a problem with it the way it is.
But then I tend to be more casual and play the lower difficulties mostly. Not to get too complex, but what about saving the seed for the two highest difficulties and leaving it as is for the lower ones?

When i look at the QuestData xml file the cards in the shopList have a set code. I guess it just needs to be restored without randomization.
