Forge Beta: 03-15-2013 ver 1.3.10
1224212247 cards in total.
Release Notes:
A new quest world by Serrasmurf based on Ravinca has been added.
An effort is being made to implement the split cards (e.g. Fire/Ice) in Forge. The initial effort to add support for split cards may be considered complete and the relevant branch has reen reintegrated to trunk. Expect some rough edges and incompatibilities along the way.
The fat packs should now be available for purchase in the quest mode card shop.
Information for non-card items in spell shop are now shown in the card details panel.
Multiple problems with Convoke have been fixed.
Forge should now be the Magic rules enforcing program with the most supported cards! That means we finally beat MtGO! MtGO is missing 828 cards. Even subtracting the Power Nine, which were available in the MtGO cube for some time, that's more than we are missing (805) at the time this was written.

- A small number of cards including Wall of Corpses, Abu Ja'far and others with a similar ability are not functional. The common issue here is actually that they check the blocker/attacker after being removed from the battlefield. Probably need to use LKI. Regular destroy/destroy all effects work just fine. The problem cards are caring about battlefield specific properties, that no longer apply when the base card is no longer on the battlefield.
On several occasions people have noticed that the forge deck editor and/or quest mode card shop would not open or display. We have also received reports that some of the tabs/panels in the deck editor are missing. Try deleting the file named "editor_preferred.xml" which is found in the "res/layouts" folder. This should force forge to then use the "editor_default.xml" file instead.
Several people have noticed that the cards displayed on the battlefield will fail to be displayed when the number of cards on the battlefield increases. Maximizing the human panel can help to re-display the cards.
Some time was spent turning the static ETB triggers into the proper ETB replacement effects they should be, mainly to interact correctly with each other. This work is not yet finished. As a result there is currently some inconsistencies with "Enters the battlefield with counters" (Not incredibly noticeable).
A recent contribution to the code base should fix some of the bugs that people noticed with cloning type abilities. At this time there are two remaining issues that we hope will be addressed in the near future.
1. Leave play triggers don't work correct for clones.
2. Copies of cards that setup Zone Change triggers via addComesIntoPlayCommand and addLeavesPlayCommand will not function correctly.
There is currently a known issue with some of the cards that have effects triggering after the card goes to graveyard (e.g. Wall of Corpses, Abu Ja'Far) not working correctly.
Forge is likely to be compatible with Java 7 at this time. Some people have used forge with Java 7 and have not reported any problems that are related to Java 7. If you would like to upgrade to Java 7 and have held off because of Forge then you may upgrade as we do not think that it will cause an incompatibility type of problem. We will continue to try to maintain compatibility with Java 6 for the foreseeable future.
The Forge archive includes a readme.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove useful. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.
The archive format used for the Forge distribution is ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to extract/decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you extract/decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.
Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.

Very nice release and all of the cards that I wanted is here. I have a question. I have HQ pics of tokens. How can I use them in forge? I'm too lazy to rename each and one of them. Is there a renamer for the tokens. Another question, I just recently saw the MBP set in Forge, do you have a link for the HQ images? Can't seem to find a link on MBP cards.

Description: AI cast Necromancy, it had a creature in the graveyard (Kithkin Greatheart), which entered the battlefield, and Necromancy was attached to it. The representation of Necromancy remained on the stack and the game froze.

It depends on whether the tokens follow a standard naming convention. The next version of Forge will have an enhanced data importer that can import lots of different kinds of data, but we have to know what to look for. I just took a look at the HQ pic torrent. I see an Extras folder with several zips in it of tokens that seem to be named after the cards that generate them. Is this what you are referring to? Forge looks for tokens based on what they /are/, e.g. all "green 2/2 wolf" tokens have the image file g_2_2_wolf.jpg, not an image based on the generating card. If someone could provide a text file that maps between the two naming styles, I'd be happy to implement the functionality in the importer.mahan21 wrote:I have HQ pics of tokens. That would be cool : ) but we don't currently track when cards were added to Forge. A database could certainly be compiled based on the first revision each card appeared in the res/cardsfolder directory tree, though, if there is enough interest.Luxis wrote:Is there any way or filter we can see the cards sorting by.. like.. I was a tad disappointed when I noticed the latest release did not include the Gatecrash pre-constructed decks. But that is an easily corrected flaw:

Grabbing a link from my phone is a bit of a pain, but a few pages back in the HQ Pictures thread in the Pictures subforum is a summary of mirror links. From there, grab the rar of all promos (and box sets I think). Most of the images currently in the MBP folder are from the BIN and PRE folders.mahan21 wrote:Very nice release and all of the cards that I wanted is here. I have a question. My favourite way to do that is to go into the /res/pics folder (after downloading the new images, of course) and sort it by date. That'll pull all the new card images to the top of the list, letting you at least browse through them to see which ones you want to add to decks or build new decks around. (This assumes you copy your old /res/pics folder contents into the new one before downloading.)Luxis wrote:Oh! I have a question too..
Is there any way or filter we can see the cards sorting by.. like.. "the most recent ones that have been added" ?
