I think that ideal would be if they showed the whole library, but the legal choices for search would be somehow highlighted - different font color or something (I'm thinking grey for non-legal, black for legal).

I'm all for this approach as well. While we're making the font grey, we could also grey out the options or buttons in the sense that they won't be able to be selected or highlighted. In fact, we should do the same whenever other selections are required, such as for Duress -- obviating the need for two dialogs.Marek14 wrote:I think that ideal would be if they showed the whole library, but the legal choices for search would be somehow highlighted - different font color or something (I'm thinking grey for non-legal, black for legal).
(Either that, or switch everything to the scheme of separate windows for display and choice. But the greying-out idea seems superior, if it can be reasonably implemented.)

Can anyone seem to play Avenger of Zendikar? I can't seem to use the card.

While it's technically correct to show the entire library, I do prefer to only have to choose amongst the cards that would be legal....

How about putting radio buttons to the search window and let player choose between "Show all" and "show only legal"? Both have their advantages (showing all is definitely preferable when you play random deck or when you cast Bribery). A menu option could control which of these two modes would be default. That way, everyone would be content.Rob Cashwalker wrote:While it's technically correct to show the entire library, I do prefer to only have to choose amongst the cards that would be legal....

When the computer kicks a Gatekeeper of Malakir, nothing happens. It doesn't make me sacrifice a creature. I seem to recall the ability working fine when I used it against the computer though.

The tokens produced by Dovescape are put into play under control of the controller of Dovescape and not the spell caster's control.
If I give the creature the computer targets with Sower of Temptation protection from blue (via, say, Mother of Runes
), the computer then targets a different creature (say, Mother of Runes
).
When I cascade into Sunlance with Ardent Plea, I am prompted to pay its mana cost. If I can't then nothing happened (and Sunscape is put back into the library). Cascade seems to work with other instants (I tried Swords to Plowshare and Boomerang), but not Sunlance.

With the Forge0221 beta, there are issues with Mycoloth and with Doubling Season.
Mycoloth: As Mycoloth comes into play, you can only pick 1 creature to sacrifice to it. You cannot select mutiple targets to sac to it, as you hould be able to.
Doubling Season: I have DS in play and a Elvish Farmer. The farmer does get 2 counters each turn, so DS works for that. But if I make a token with Elvish Farmer while DS is in play, I only get 1 token, not 2.

Mycoloth does give double number of tokens with DS in play. Strange...

me: some red deck compy: blue-good-ai
- compy returned my Goblin Ring Leader to my hand three(!) times
- compy searched my library with bribery in his 2nd main, he took Ball Lightning
some small AI-issues. It also seems that the AI doesn't recognize Trample for blocking choices

Yay, I just whipped up an "Almost Speed Scorch" deck and trounced the computer. But it had a wall and could have safely blocked many times but never did. Is this an AI problem?

Yeah, the AI is pretty stupid when it comes to blocking

Hmm, yeah I'm not exactly sure what's happening with Mycoloth (I can confirm this though, I'm getting the same thing).Mr.Chaos wrote:With the Forge0221 beta, there are issues with Mycoloth and with Doubling Season.

The Elvish Farmer bug I've just fixed.
EDIT: Looking at the code, it seems the Mycoloth bug happens here:
- Code: Select all
if(card.getController().equals(Constant.Player.Human)) {
List<Card> selection = AllZone.Display.getChoices("Select creature to sacrifice",
creats.toArray());
numCreatures[0] = selection.size();
for(int m = 0; m < selection.size(); m++) {
AllZone.GameAction.sacrifice(selection.get(m));
}
}

True. I'd rather be reminded of what's in my deck when I get the chance. It's helpful when playing an unfamiliar deck, and in draft and sealed. It should be true for the graveyard, too, when doing a Raise Dead effect. It's supposed to be public info, after all.DennisBergkamp wrote:Actually, the question should be, why am I not shown every single card when using other fetch spells?
"Search your library" means you should be able to see every single card in your library... you're right though, this is another issue dealing with uniformity, all fetch spells should probably show the entire library instead of a subset of cards.

that's not a bug but a feature^^
with this version, i've revised the Devour keyword to use a "choose multiple" variant, meaning you can select any number of creatures at the same time. note that the called method is "getChoices" and not "getChoice". you get a list of all the selected card, so no further dialog is needed
