I have a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. My current quest has 25 wins, 16 losses and only 621 cards.

I do not yet see any slow down in the card shop or the deck editor. From experience, I think that the card pool needs to get above 1000 to 2000 cards before a noticeable slowdown takes place.

I also remember java heap space errors resulting from large card pools in quest mode. Increasing the heap space solved this problem.

Hmm... Your computer is definitely better than mine. 10 minutes for deck editor/card shop loading seems quite excessive. What version of Windows are you running and how much other stuff are you running when you play Forge? That includes background processes as well. I've noticed that if I don't close everything but my web browser and one other program, as well as going into the processes tab in Windows Task Manager and clicking End Task on any processes with my username other than explorer, my antivirus and a couple of other things, Forge runs a bit slower. You may not need to worry about that as much with that 3 GB of RAM, but killing unnecessary processes can still help.

@Chris: For me, the card pool has to be at least 2500 for me to really see deck editor/card shop slow downs. Also, if you use Windows and run Forge using the .exe, you already get a heap of at least 512 MB, and it might even be 1 GB.

I could not remember when the slow downs occurred but I think that you are right. All but one of my quests have been short term where at most, I only have 1500 or less cards.

maybe we should cap it at 500 cards like Microprose Shandalar.

Pretty much lol.

My card pool goes over 9000 (pun intended). The wait time may not be linear... so it may get exponentially worse after certain threshold.

Another weird bug:

When AEther Vial is used to put Vesuvan Doppelganger into the battlefield, the card comes into play as a 0/0 and its ability to copy a creature doesn't trigger. Worse, the creature doesn't die despite being 0/0 and its ability that triggers at upkeep obviously no longer work since it never became a proper creature.

Something's not quite right with Thalakos Dreamsower. Its effect seems to be "Whenever a creature (possibly source) you control damages an opponent, tap a creature he or she controls. Those creatures do not tap unless you untap Thalakos Dreamsower."

Creatures not attacking Gideon Jura when its ability has been activated and the Human is low on life should now be fixed in SVN.

I'm at work so I can't fix it, but the problem is the "ValidCard$" parameter in Dreamsower's trigger should be a "ValidSource$" parameter. I'll fix it tonight if nobody beats me to it.

EDIT:Yay, I did something useful today.

Almost_Clever wrote:I was prompted to discard a card due to Pain Magnification when I was dealt one (Rakdos Ickspitter) or two damage (Hellhole Rats).
I destroyed the Pain Magnification (it was too ridiculous the way it was working), but its buggy trigger was still causing me to discard the next match (not just the next game)! (Or it might have been due to the Pain Magnification that was apparently in its hand that it cast the next turn.)

When I deal combat damage to computer's Shinka Gatekeeper, I get the following error:...

Doubtless One goes to the graveyard as soon as it is cast even though it is a cleric (and I have other clerics in play).
Fixed! Thanks Almost_Clever.

Dumb play:
Computer played Relic Putrescence on my Infiltration Lens.
Illegal play:
Computer played Viridian Corrupter but did not destroy any artifacts (I controlled three, two of which were indestructible, but the third was not).
Dumb and illegal play:
Computer used Salvage Scout to return an Iron Myr to my hand from my graveyard.

Also, I cannot delete a draft deck. I open it in the Deck Editor, select "Delete," and answer "Yes" to the prompt. It is gone from the Deck Editor menu and the deck selector for playing, but the next time I open Forge it is back.

Sovereigns of Lost Alara: Attacked with Sovereigns alone and targetted an Eldrazi Conscription and targetted a Hierarch to attach to. Visually it attached the Conscription to the Sovereigns, but the card text still said it was on the Hierarch. Tried this a second game and confirmed the behavior.
