Ah, I guess I will never see a Flourishing Defenses deck - not as long as the AI won't search for it.
If the Ai would act better, I would have really liked to see the combination Midnight Banshee, Flourishing Defenses and Fecundity. You can draw like 15 cards in one round, with a bit of luck
I will see what other kind of deck with -1/-1 counters you can create. I have already a Heartmender with Crumbling Ashes, Midnight Banshee, Harbinger of Night, maybe Blowfly Infestation (with Heartmender it shouldn't be such a problem, would it?) and Carnifex Demon. Maybe including the Phyrexian Hydra and wither/persist creatures. And Harmonize
Can't you give each deck a individually script, giving the AI some 'hints' what it has to do...? Would be a great improvement, if there would be a way to influence the behaviour...

I've added Melira, Sylvok Outcast to the developer version yesterday and tried her in the deck. She solves all the problems if she is on the battlefield:
- Melira, Sylvok Outcast + Phyrexian Hydra = unkillable Hydra
- Melira, Sylvok Outcast + Blowfly Infestation (+ Crumbling Ashes) = no more unwanted chain reactions
My decklist:
I moved further away from a Flourishing Defenses deck, since the number of -1/-1 counters tossed around was roughly halved by Melira, Sylvok Outcast.
EDIT: The deckbuilding fun doesn't have to stop here, a Heartmender + Melira, Sylvok Outcast deck could go further with -1/-1 counters on all creatures (Harbinger of Night, Carnifex Demon, Soul Snuffers) and creatures that put them on themselves (Lichenthrope, Phyrexian Hydra and Persist creatures).

Here is a deck based on flashback cards. It is quite weak, but can win any attrition battle:
Stronger decks are possible, but waiting for the rest of the Innistrad block may be worth waiting for.

We may have too many Blue Bounce style decks already, but just in case we don't here's one with a different twist. The deck isn't super finetuned, but here's the general idea.
A few things I noticed while testing this related to the AI:
AI Will use Faerie Conclave to pay for spells before Basic Islands (non-basic lands with abilities should probably be used after basic lands)
AI Will use Rishadan Port to pay for Colorless mana instead of leaving it around to tap down the Human. (Similar to above)
AI casts Rishadan Footpad (or similar) and I can't cancel out of the Unless cost. Does this happen to anyone else? I don't think I have any local changes that would cause this, but I just wanted to see.

I can confirm this. Spell Pierce works though. I will test some more.friarsol wrote:AI casts Rishadan Footpad (or similar) and I can't cancel out of the Unless cost. Does this happen to anyone else? I don't think I have any local changes that would cause this, but I just wanted to see.

Further testing results:friarsol wrote:AI casts Rishadan Footpad (or similar) and I can't cancel out of the Unless cost. Does this happen to anyone else? I don't think I have any local changes that would cause this, but I just wanted to see.
- Rhystic Study will prompt you to pay again if you cancel the first prompt, but will continue fine after that.
- Changing Rishadan Footpad's triggered ability to AB Draw (like Rhystic Study) will work as Rhystic Study.
I guess the input stack gets messed up by payManaDuringAbilityResolve, which can overwrite an active input (the sacrifice input in this case).

Ahh that sounds right. I'll commit a change to fix this. But we should probably try to resolve the double input scenario too.Sloth wrote:I guess the input stack gets messed up by payManaDuringAbilityResolve, which can overwrite an active input (the sacrifice input in this case).

I think the double input scenario was changed by your fix: If you pay the first time, you're also prompted to pay a second time (I think that wasn't the case before).friarsol wrote:Ahh that sounds right.
